
Liesl Kaan
Liesl Kaan is a social worker that has worked in the field of social work form 2008.
She has obtained her BA(SW) from the University of Johannesburg, and also in 2022 her MA () SosSc, in Clinical Social work also at the University of Johannesburg.
She started her social work journey at Sanca Johannesburg and later migrated to school social work as she has a passion for therapy with children and teens. In 2021 she joined the team at Minke Saayman Child and family Centre.
Her goal is to create a safe space for clients where they feel safe and held to express their thoughts and emotions to heal.
The framework from which she practices is psychodynamic theory informed by the work of Winnicott and Klein., attachment therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, traumatic incident reduction and also parenting skills, informed by the work of Daniel Siegal and Tina Bryson.
She is inspired to work with a range of ages from under 5’s, children, teens, adults and families.
